Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Katie Barron could carry the North Idaho (11-3) past the Big Bend (5-9) at North Idaho on Saturday as the North Idaho suffered a 7-3 defeat.
Barron paced the North Idaho at the plate. Barron went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third and seventh innings.
Barron pitched lights out for the North Idaho. Barron gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Tifini Schorzman racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Big Bend. He homered in the third inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.
Shayla Baker pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks while striking out three.
Olivia Harrison recorded his second win of the year for the Big Bend. He allowed two runs over one inning. Harrison struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Amber Hawkes (4-2) took the loss for the North Idaho. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
