Cayden Stover went 2-4, helping the Herndon Braves (9-8) to a 6-5 victory over the Gaithersburg Giants (6-9) on Saturday at Criswell Automotive Field.
He singled in the third and ninth innings.The Gaithersburg Giants couldn't get anything going so long as Christopher Lohr was on the hill. The Gaithersburg Giants managed just one hit off of the the Herndon Braves' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked four and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Pat Hisle racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Gaithersburg Giants. He homered in the fifth inning.
The Herndon Braves couldn't get anything going so long as Adam Neveski was on the hill. Neveski held the Herndon Braves hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none.
Steven Schwartz improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Herndon Braves. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Jacob Potock couldn't get it done on the mound for the Gaithersburg Giants, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
