An awesome effort by Scott Beever led the Weyburn Beavers (16-17) to an 8-0 win over the Fort McMurray Giants (11-22) on Friday at Tom Laing Park.
Beever held the Fort McMurray Giants scoreless for seven innings. Beever allowed three hits, no walks and struck out eight.
The Weyburn Beavers blew out the Fort McMurray Giants thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run single by Zach Frazier delivered the runs in the seventh. The Weyburn Beavers had two hits in the inning.
Dan Moro racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Weyburn Beavers. He singled in the third and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
James (Isaac) Mullins couldn't get it done on the hill for the Fort McMurray Giants, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.
