The Fort McMurray Giants make the most of 4 hits in 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Prospects

The Fort McMurray Giants (6-13) and the Edmonton Prospects (8-9) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Fort McMurray Giants capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-3 win at Telus Field.

It was a good day at the plate for the Fort McMurray Giants' Cooper Krug. Krug went 2-4 and scored two runs. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Curtis Bafus brought the heat against the Edmonton Prospects during his outing. Bafus held the Edmonton Prospects hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Despite the loss, the Edmonton Prospects' Pat Van den Brink dominated the Fort McMurray Giants' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.

Nick Kafer improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Fort McMurray Giants. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Van den Brink (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
