Daren Grabowski led the Medicine Hat Mavericks' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Troy Schreivogel improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. Schreivogel struck out three, walked none and gave up two hits.
Adam Falcon (1-2) took the loss for the Fort McMurray Giants. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
