The Bethesda Big Train (3-0) beat the Vienna River Dogs (2-2) 8-4 on Thursday at Shirley Povich Field behind Clayton William, who went 2-3.

Alex Calvert brought the heat against the Vienna River Dogs during his outing. Calvert held the Vienna River Dogs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Andrew Zitel racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Vienna River Dogs. He tripled in the sixth inning.

Chris Christopher recorded his first win of the year for the Bethesda Big Train. He allowed one run over five innings. Christopher struck out two, walked two and gave up five hits.

John Cerretani ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
