The Piedmont Pride outdone by Faulk and the Carolina Vipers, 4-2

Shane Faulk went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Carolina Vipers (11-4) took home a 4-2 victory over the Piedmont Pride (12-4) at Winthrop University on Monday.

He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Piedmont Pride's lineup had no answer for Zach Flanagan. The Piedmont Pride managed just two hits off of the the Carolina Vipers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Piedmont Pride's Connor Pate dominated the Carolina Vipers' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

RJ Merli got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Pete Baddick (0-1) took the loss for the Piedmont Pride. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
