Josh Eatherly went 1-2, sparking the Palm Springs Chill (3-1) to a 2-0 victory in seven innings over the Oregon Lumberjacks (2-4) on Monday at Palm Springs Turf Field.

The Oregon Lumberjacks had no answer for Ryan Strombom, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Oregon Lumberjacks managed just one hit off of the the Palm Springs Chill's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out eight during his five innings of work.

Blake Evetts was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Palm Springs Chill batters and allowing one run.

Evetts (0-1) took the loss for the Oregon Lumberjacks.
