Joe Murray went 3-3 at the plate as the Lafayette Aviators (23-23) took home a 7-2 victory over the Butler BlueSox (20-25) at Kelly Automotive Park on Thursday.
He singled in the fifth, eighth, and ninth innings.The Lafayette Aviators relied on Evan Warden to eat up innings en route to the win. Warden allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings of work.
The Butler BlueSox were led by James Meeker's hitting. Meeker went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.
Zachary Patterson (1-2) took the loss for the Butler BlueSox. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
