The Danville Dans (22-18) built an early edge on Thursday, but the Quincy Gems (19-22) roared back to steal a 3-1 victory at Danville Stadium.

While the Danville Dans led until the fifth inning, the Quincy Gems worked their way back and took the lead when Jake Walters was hit by a pitch.

Colan Borchers pitched lights out for the Quincy Gems. Borchers held the Danville Dans hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Stephen Himic allowed no earned runs, four hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings of work.

Alex Ruxlow improved to 1-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed one run over five innings. Ruxlow struck out none, walked two and gave up two hits.

Himic ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
