The Quincy Gems (4-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Terre Haute Rex (2-3), recording a 15-4 victory on Monday at Quincy Stadium.

A two-run home run by Jake Walters, an RBI single by Joey Polak, a groundout by CJ Schaeffer, and a two-run double by Chandler Purcell in the first inning and an RBI double by Reed Sprinkle and a two-run double by Trey Mathis during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Quincy Gems.Polak racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Quincy Gems.
Julio Rosales did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Terre Haute Rex, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Aaron Stone got the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed two runs over five innings. Stone struck out three, walked four and gave up three hits.
Braxton Yeryar (0-2) took the loss for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked one and struck out one.
