Trevor Richards hopes every outing could go as well as Tuesday, as Richards struck out eight batters to carry the Gateway Grizzlies (11-18) to a 2-1 victory over the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field.

Brandon Thomas racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Despite the loss, the Evansville Otters (19-10)'s Hunter Ackerman dominated the Gateway Grizzlies' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Ackerman (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher.
