The River City Rascals make the most of 9 hits in 8-5 victory over the Normal CornBelters

Both the River City Rascals (18-12) and the Normal CornBelters (12-18) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the River City Rascals that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-5 win at The Corn Crib.

Mike Jurgella racked up three RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He doubled in the sixth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Jared Wilson pitched lights out for the River City Rascals. Wilson held the Normal CornBelters hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Santiago Chirino was hot from the plate for the Normal CornBelters. Chirino went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the first and second innings and homered in the fourth inning.

Tim Koons got his second win for the River City Rascals despite allowing five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Koons struck out six, walked one and gave up 11 hits.

Max Homick couldn't get it done on the mound for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
