The Normal CornBelters (10-16) and the Gateway Grizzlies (10-17) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Normal CornBelters that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win at GCS Ballpark.

Chris Carmain picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Carmain pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out five.

A bright spot for the Gateway Grizzlies in the defeat was Dakota Smith, who allowed only one run while striking out 11.

JaVaun West couldn't get it done on the hill for the Gateway Grizzlies, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
