A walk-off single from Joe Mercadante brought home the winning run for the Worcester Bravehearts (28-11) in a 6-5 victory over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs in 11 innings at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto on Tuesday.

Mercadante reached base two times. He singled in the seventh, tenth, and eleventh innings.

Ryan Ward got on base three times in the game for the Worcester Bravehearts. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first and seventh innings.

Tyler Lonestar improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Worcester Bravehearts. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Scott Webster (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
