It took 12 innings, but the Worcester Bravehearts (13-5) managed to put away the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (7-13) 8-7 on Friday at Doyle Field.

With the score tied at seven in the twelfth inning, reached on an error, scoring Joe Mercadante (LIU Brooklyn). 

Mercadante put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Worcester Bravehearts. He doubled in the fifth inning, homered in the eighth inning, and singled in the sixth and ninth innings. 

Tyler Lonestar (St. Marys)brought the heat against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs during his outing. The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs managed just one hit off of Lonestar, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Kyle Bonicki (Clark University) racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He singled in the first, ninth, and eleventh innings.

Baylor LaPointe (LIU Brooklyn) recorded his first win of the year for the Worcester Bravehearts. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Joe Thomas (0-2) (Tufts University) took the loss for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.

The Worcester Bravehearts were sparked by Mercadante and Nick Rybarczyk,(Marist) who teamed up for 10 hits and four RBIs.
