A walk-off single from John Toppa (UCONN) brought home the winning run for the Nashua Silver Knights (8-3) in a 5-4 victory over the North Shore Navigators (1-9) at Holman Stadium on Tuesday.
Toppa was hot from the plate for the Nashua Silver Knights. Toppa went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Yanni Thanopoulas (Amherst College) racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Nashua Silver Knights. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third and eighth innings.
Jake Nelson (University of Pennsylvania) improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Nashua Silver Knights. He allowed one run over one inning. Nelson struck out none, walked none and gave up three hits.
Jake Dexter (Southern Maine) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
