The bats were busy at Doyle Field on Wednesday, and when the dust cleared the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (2-4) had a 9-8 win over the Nashua Silver Knights (4-2).

The teams totaled 21 hits in the game.

Rupert House (Post University) racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He doubled in the sixth and seventh innings.

Nick Hornbaker (Lock Haven University) brought the heat against the Nashua Silver Knights during his outing. The Nashua Silver Knights managed just two hits off of Hornbaker, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Nashua Silver Knights' Drew Fischer (Amherst College) dominated the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

Cam Lafleur (University of Rhode Island) (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed no runs.
