Four first-inning runs helped the Wenatchee Valley (20-15) to a 7-2 win over the Spokane (26-14) at Spokane Falls Community College on Friday.

The Wenatchee Valley scored in the first on , an RBI single by Baile Wilkey, a sacrifice fly by Korteney Durand, and an error.

Nikki Mather led the Wenatchee Valley's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first and second innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Karly Malcolm struck out six, paving the way for a the Wenatchee Valley win. Malcolm allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Michele Strauss (19-4) took the loss for the Spokane. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked seven and struck out two.
