The Columbia Basin get key pinch-hit in 5-3 victory over the Spokane

Kadi Patterson was cold coming off the bench, but Patterson warmed up quickly as Patterson stroked a key pinch-hit single in the eight to lead the Columbia Basin (21-7) to a 5-3 win over the Spokane (16-10) on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

With the score tied at three in the eighth inning, Patterson came to the plate and singled.

Sarah Gilliam reached base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He homered in the eighth inning.

Kayla Andrews's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Columbia Basin past the Spokane. Andrews allowed two earned runs, nine hits and two walks over eight innings.

Makenzie Norwill (5-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
