Baldwin helps the Mt. Hood down the SW Oregon 6-3

Madisen Baldwin had two extra base hits, helping the Mt. Hood (29-8) to a 6-3 victory over the SW Oregon (25-12) on Saturday at Saints Baseball Field .

He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fifth inning.

The SW Oregon had no answer for Kayla Byers, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The SW Oregon managed just two hits off of Byers, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Sammie Byron recorded his seventh win of the year for the Mt. Hood. He allowed two runs over 3 2/3 innings. Byron struck out two, walked one and gave up five hits.

Lauren Spencer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked one and struck out seven.

The Mt. Hood were sparked by Rachel Rutledge and Tiara Champ, who teamed up for seven hits and six RBIs.
