An awesome effort by Emily Marchbanks hoisted the Clackamas (18-5) to a 4-0 win over the Mt. Hood on Saturday at Saints Baseball Field .
Marchbanks got the win for the Clackamas thanks to 12 strikeouts. The Clackamas' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only six hits.
Katie Zook delivered a big hit off the bench in the five.. His pinch-hit single was the key moment in the Clackamas' four-run win.
With the game scoreless in the fifth inning Zook came to the plate and singled.
Taylor Balfour had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and seventh innings and singled in the first and ninth innings.
Kayla Byers (5-1) took the loss for the Mt. Hood (15-5). He lasted just eight innings, walked one, struck out 13, and allowed four runs.
