The Walla Walla (2-6) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Mt. Hood (8-2) dominated in a 10-1 win in seven innings at Walla Walla Community College S.
The Mt. Hood scored four runs in the sixth on the Mt. Hood scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Rachel Rutledge, an RBI single by Megan Marcy, , and a sacrifice fly by Maddy Newkirk.
Rutledge had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.
Kayla Byers had an impressive outing against the Walla Walla's lineup. The Walla Walla managed just two hits off of Byers, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out seven during his six innings of work.
Mallory Chavez (1-1) took the loss for the Walla Walla. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
Rutledge, Marcy and Byers helped lead the Mt. Hood. They combined for six hits and seven RBIs.
