The North Idaho (23-9) blew out the Yakima Valley (5-27) 16-3 on Saturday at Dunbar Field after pouring on nine runs in the fifth inning.
The North Idaho scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Chloe McIntosh, an RBI single by Katie Barron, an error, an error, an error, a two-run double by Jamie Yurick, and a two-run single by Emily Aspden.
Aspden went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the North Idaho.
Daphne Fisher paced the Yakima Valley at the plate. Fisher went 2-2 and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Amber Hawkes got the win, running his season record to 12-4. He allowed three runs over five innings. Hawkes struck out three, walked none and gave up seven hits.
Beth Anderson (2-16) took the loss for the Yakima Valley. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
