The SW Oregon (24-10) jumped out to an early lead on the Lower Columbia (26-9) and captured a 14-5 victory on Wednesday at Tam O' Shanter Park.
The game was decided quickly as the SW Oregon exerted their will early with nine runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Bobbi Bertsch during the first inning and , a double by Danielle Crocket, , and an RBI single by Bertsch in the second inning helped the SW Oregon put some runs on the board early.Bertsch racked up three RBIs on two hits for the SW Oregon.
Jessica Gibson put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Lower Columbia. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.
Shevan DeFreitas improved to 10-3 on the year by picking up the win for the SW Oregon. He allowed two runs over four innings. DeFreitas struck out one, walked one and gave up four hits.
Bailey Ellis (6-4) took the loss for the Lower Columbia. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked two and struck out two.
The SW Oregon easily handled the Lower Columbia pitching as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, eight RBIs and 13 runs scored.
