The Yakima Valley (22-9) jumped on the Walla Walla (16-10) early on their way to a 9-5 win on Wednesday at Parker Field , scoring five runs in the first inning.
The Yakima Valley scored in the first on a two-run double by Alec Chaney, an RBI single by Karsten Sherman, an RBI single by Sherman, and a two-run double by Parker Depasquale.
Chaney racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Yakima Valley.
Chris Petrosie improved to 7-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Yakima Valley. He allowed three runs over six innings. Petrosie struck out two, walked one and gave up nine hits.
Jake Simmons (3-3) took the loss for the Walla Walla. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out one.
