The Saskatchewan (2-4) beat the Alberta (2-4) 9-5 in seven innings on Sunday at BBoys Vaughan Grove one behind Nathan Halvorsen, who went 2-3.

A bright spot for the Alberta in the defeat was Quinn Tocheniuk, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.

Jack Marlin paced the Alberta at the plate. Marlin went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the second innings and tripled in the fourth inning.

Nolan King recorded his first win of the year for the Saskatchewan. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Quinn Tassie ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
