The Terre Haute Rex jump on the Danville Dans early and coast to 13-5 win

The Terre Haute Rex (2-0) jumped out to an early lead on the Danville Dans (0-2) and captured a 13-5 victory on Saturday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Terre Haute Rex to put the game away early.

A sacrifice fly by Luke Ringhofer and an RBI single by Andy De Jesus in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Terre Haute Rex.

The Terre Haute Rex were led by a flawless day at the dish by Andrew Gutierrez, who went 3-3 against the Danville Dans' pitching. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the third and seventh innings.

Aidan Stinnett had a hot bat for the Danville Dans. Stinnett went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Samuel Higgs recorded his first win of the year for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Michael McCormick (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
