Four first-inning runs helped the Hutchinson Monarchs (1-1) to a 9-5 win over the San Antonio Titans (0-2) at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Sunday.

The Hutchinson Monarchs scored in the first on a two-run single by Quintin Crandall, an RBI single by John Oliver, and an RBI single by Bennie (BJ) Dean.

(BJ) Dean racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Hutchinson Monarchs.

Noah Draper got the win for the Hutchinson Monarchs thanks to six strikeouts. The Hutchinson Monarchs' pitcher gave up just four hits over 4 2/3 shutout innings.

Nick Lerick went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the San Antonio Titans. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

Cody Brannon was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
