The Manitoba get key pinch-hit in 10-7 victory over the Saskatchewan

Drake Pilat was cold coming off the bench, but Pilat warmed up quickly as Pilat stroked a key pinch-hit single in the two to lead the Manitoba (2-0) to a 10-7 win over the Saskatchewan (0-3) on Friday at Currie Field.

With the Manitoba trailing by two in the second inning, Pilat came to the plate and singled.

Pilat racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Manitoba.

Dustin Braun racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Manitoba. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.

Nolan Legien racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Saskatchewan. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the second inning.

Even though Jason Kirkland allowed seven runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. Kirkland struck out six, walked five and gave up seven hits.

Tanner Ring was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out one.
