The Las Cruces Vaqueros (15-40) didn't put up much of a fight on Monday, as the Alpine Cowboys (34-21) cruised to a blowout 18-2 win in seven innings at Apodaca Park.

The Alpine Cowboys scored nine runs in the sixth on the Alpine Cowboys scored in the sixth on an error, an error, a fielder's choice, a three-run double by Reagan Rutledge, a two-run home run by Riley Smith, and an RBI single by Eric Herman.

Smith racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Alpine Cowboys.

The Alpine Cowboys relied on Daniel Thorpe to eat up innings en route to the win. Thorpe allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Tyler Leguire ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

The Alpine Cowboys pounded the Las Cruces Vaqueros pitching, as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
