Early lead gives the Quebec easy victory over the Ontario, 12-2

The Quebec (1-0) shut the door early on the Ontario (0-1), capturing a 12-2 victory on Thursday at Parc de lEst .

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Quebec left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Anthony Quirion and a sacrifice fly by Tristan Paris in the first inning and a hit by pitch, a two-run single by Jonathan Lacroix, a double by Matthew Majeur, and an error during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Quebec.

Majeur racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Quebec.

Zack Gignac got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. Gignac struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Travis Keys (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
