Kyle Jewell went 2-2 as the New Brunswick (1-0) took home a 4-3 victory over the Prince Edward Island (0-1) in seven innings at Parc de lEst on Thursday.

The Prince Edward Island were led by Jay Oram's hitting. Oram went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Nate Ronan recorded his first win of the year for the New Brunswick. Ronan struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Matt Barlow (0-1) took the loss for the Prince Edward Island. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
