A superb effort by Chevas Numata carried the Santa Fe Fuego (15-7) to a 14-8 win over the Garden City Wind (8-20) on Tuesday at Fort Marcy Park.

Numata hit two home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Numata went 3-6 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Numata homered in the fourth and seventh innings.

The two teams combined for 22 runs and 32 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 10 pitchers in total.

The Santa Fe Fuego blew out the Garden City Wind thanks to 20 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Santa Fe Fuego scored three runs in the sixth on the Santa Fe Fuego scored in the sixth on a two-run double by Connor Lorenzo and an RBI single by Matt Patrone.

Scott Torrey improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed four runs over five innings. Torrey struck out four, walked four and gave up six hits.

Larry Rodriguez couldn't get it done on the mound for the Garden City Wind, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.
