The Phipps Park Barracudas offense too much for the Palm Beach Blazers in 20-1 rout

The Phipps Park Barracudas (9-5) jumped out to an early lead on the Palm Beach Blazers (7-10) and captured a 20-1 victory on Thursday at Miller Park.

With nine runs in the first three innings, the Phipps Park Barracudas left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Carlos Diaz and an RBI single by Jason Moore during the first inning and an RBI single by Jack Simons, a two-run single by Simons, a steal of home by Simons, , a steal of home by Connor Sorge, and in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Phipps Park Barracudas.

Diaz racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Phipps Park Barracudas.

The Palm Beach Blazers had no answer for Anthony Delaney, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Palm Beach Blazers managed just two hits off of the the Phipps Park Barracudas' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Mike Abate had a hot bat for the Palm Beach Blazers. Abate went 4-5. He singled in the first, third, and ninth innings.

Miguel Castellanos improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Phipps Park Barracudas. He allowed one run over three innings. Castellanos struck out two, walked two and gave up three hits.

Jonathan Wake (0-3) took the loss for the Palm Beach Blazers. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked four and struck out three.

The Phipps Park Barracudas pounded the Palm Beach Blazers pitching, as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
