The Delray Beach Lightning (4-4) and the West Palm Beach Sharks (2-2) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Delray Beach Lightning that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out an 8-7 win at Miller Park.

John Friday had a hot bat for the Delray Beach Lightning. Friday went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Nick Gargan went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the West Palm Beach Sharks. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Kyle Bender got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Steve Marotta (0-1) took the loss for the West Palm Beach Sharks. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
