The Amsterdam Mohawks (38-10) built an early lead against the Albany Dutchmen (22-25), scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-4 win on Tuesday at Shuttleworth Park.

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored in the first on a two-run home run by Justin Yurchak, an RBI double by Handsome Monica, and a fielder's choice.

Yurchak racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

The Albany Dutchmen's lineup had no answer for Fernando Guerrero. Guerrero held the Albany Dutchmen hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six.

The Albany Dutchmen were led by Tom Moore's hitting. Moore went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the eighth inning.

Brad Schaenzer got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed one run over three innings. Schaenzer struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Jon Reid (4-4) took the loss for the Albany Dutchmen. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
