The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (28-18) and the Utica Brewers (18-28) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs that eventually took advantage of them in an 8-7 win at Veterans Memorial Park.

The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs were led by Colin Hawk's hitting. Hawk went 3-4 and scored two runs. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the second and fourth innings.

Vincent Capone had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Shawn Kanwisher improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. He allowed one run over two innings. Kanwisher struck out none, walked none and gave up four hits.

Alec Morrison (0-2) took the loss for the Utica Brewers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
