A walk-off single from Anthony Spina brought home the winning run for the Newark Pilots (3-3) in a 4-3 victory over the Adirondack Trail Blazers (4-4) in 14 innings at Colburn Park on Thursday.
Spina was hot from the plate for the Newark Pilots. Spina went 2-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the thirteenth and fourteenth innings.
Willy Yahn went a perfect 5-5 at the dish for the Newark Pilots. He singled in the first, fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth innings.
Jacob Wloczewski put together a nice outing. The Adirondack Trail Blazers managed just two hits off of Wloczewski, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his seven innings of work.
Blake Brailsford got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Brailsford struck out four, walked two and gave up one hit.
Joe King was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
