The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (30-19) jumped on the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (21-26) early on their way to a 6-5 win on Tuesday at Vineyard Baseball Park, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Marthas Vineyard Sharks scored in the first on a two-run single by Jon Mayer, a two-run single by Mayer, and an RBI double by Bobby San Martin.

Ryan Kelly racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.

Despite the loss, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' David Griffin dominated the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Soren Hanson improved to 5-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He allowed one run over five innings. Hanson struck out five, walked one and gave up six hits.

AJ Celentano (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
