A six-run explosion in the eighth inning carried the Falmouth Commodores (16-26) to a 9-3 win over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks at McKeon Park on Saturday.
The Falmouth Commodores scored in the eighth on a double by Stephen Villines, a single by Evan Skoug, a solo home run by Heath Quinn, a groundout by Caleb Hamilton, a two-run single by JB Woodman, and a double by JJ Matijevic.
Quinn had two extra-base hits for the Falmouth Commodores.
Despite the loss, the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (23-19)'s Kevin Roy dominated the Falmouth Commodores' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.
Ben Ancheff got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.
Zach Girrens (0-2) took the loss for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
The Falmouth Commodores were sparked by Quinn and Matijevic, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
