Three first-inning runs helped the Harwich Mariners (20-21) to a 7-3 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (23-19) at Whitehouse Field on Saturday.

The Harwich Mariners scored in the first on a steal of home by Brock Deatherage, an RBI triple by Connor Justus, and an RBI single by Matt Gonzalez.

Justus had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Brent Rooker led the Brewster Whitecaps' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the fourth inning.

Scott Tully got the win, running his season record to 2-3. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

JD Busfield (1-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The Harwich Mariners were sparked by Deatherage and Justus, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
