Eric Lauer tossed six scoreless innings to lift the Orleans Firebirds (18-6) to a 13-2 win over the Cotuit Kettleers at Eldredge Park.
Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Orleans Firebirds to easily put away the Cotuit Kettleers (9-16). An RBI single by Bryan Reynolds, an RBI single by Reynolds, an RBI single by Ronnie Dawson, and an RBI double by Jeremy Martinez in the first inning and a two-run single by Nick Zammarelli during the second inning helped the Orleans Firebirds put some runs on the board early.
Dawson racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Orleans Firebirds.
Nick Eicholtz couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Cotuit Kettleers, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
The Orleans Firebirds easily handled the Cotuit Kettleers pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
