Brian Portelli was hot from the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. Portelli went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Curran Redal put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the fourth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.
Evan Mott improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Zeb Sneed (3-3) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
