Chris Carmain held the Florence Freedom (34-39) scoreless for seven innings to boost the Normal CornBelters (42-31) to a 2-0 victory.

Carmain struck out nine and allowed three walks and six hits.

Aaron Dudley racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Chuck Weaver (5-4) took the loss for the Florence Freedom. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
