Hunter Adkins hopes every outing could go as well as Wednesday, as Adkins threw eight scoreless innings to carry the Lake Erie Crushers (13-19) to a 4-0 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (12-23) at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Trevor Richards baffled the Lake Erie Crushers, striking out eight batters. Richards allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks over seven innings.

Richards (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher.
