Brian Hansen went 2-3, sparking the River City Rascals (18-12) to a 4-3 victory over the Joliet Slammers (11-20) on Friday at Silver Cross Field.
He singled in the third and fifth innings.Derek Cape had an impressive outing against the Joliet Slammers' lineup. Cape held the Joliet Slammers hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
The Joliet Slammers' JD Williams was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings.
Andrew Strenge was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
