Orr leads the Washington Wild Things to 13-4 win over the Southern Illinois Miners

An exceptional effort by Lee Orr spurred the Washington Wild Things (12-19) to a 13-4 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (20-11) on Tuesday at CONSOL Energy Park.

Orr blasted two home runs for the Washington Wild Things. Orr went 2-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Orr homered in the third and sixth innings.

The biggest inning for the Washington Wild Things was the third. In the inning the Washington Wild Things scored eight runs. The Washington Wild Things scored in the third on an RBI single by Carter Bell, a hit by pitch, a three-run double by Scott Kalamar, a three-run double by Kalamar, a two-run home run by Orr, and a solo home run by David Popkins.

Frank Martinez racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Southern Illinois Miners. He homered in the first inning.

Ernesto Zaragoza improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He allowed three runs over six innings. Zaragoza struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.

Jarett Miller was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
