Clayton Brandt went 2-3, helping the Gateway Grizzlies (7-15) to a 2-1 victory over the River City Rascals (12-9) on Sunday at GCS Ballpark.
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.Tyler Thompson picked up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. Thompson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four.
Chandler Jagodzinski put together a nice outing. Jagodzinski held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Joe Scanio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
