Messner held the River City Rascals hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Saxon Butler racked up two RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Derek Cape pitched lights out for the River City Rascals. Cape held the Washington Wild Things hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Luke Wilkins got his first win for the Washington Wild Things despite allowing five runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered 10 hits.
Joe Scanio (2-1) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
